What are the major religions of Argentina?
The main religion in Argentina is Christianity at almost 93 percent of the population, although Catholicism comprises the overwhelming majority of that group. Islam, closely followed by Judaism, is next, although significantly further behind at between 1 and 2 percent.
More than 90 percent of Argentines are Roman Catholics, and the constitution still requires that the president be a Roman Catholic. There are also significant Protestant and Jewish minorities and a small Muslim community. Religious freedom is guaranteed to all.
